Science & Seniors

Keeping the mind sharp is important as we age... but staying young-at-heart requires trying new things with a bit of daring and playful experimentation.  Helpertunity combines each of these elements with their inter-generational elder & youth activities that are inspired by the fun of Science & Nature!

With the help of two thoughtful community grants, Helpertunity embarked on a star-gazing & astronomy themed activity program called "Grade E Galaxy Tours!"

... and also hosted a "Nearer to Nature" district-wide lunch & learn; for encouraging Activity Professionals to get senior clients outside more often:

Unlike a school-room lecture, the "Science with Seniors" curriculum is specifically designed to offer a "Social-Construcivist Discovery-Experience in a Natural Learning Environment."

and... just like real scientists - experimentation, teamwork, minor setbacks, natural imperfections, collaboration and continuous improvements are all seen as magical and organic parts of a lifelong learning process;
